The Initiation of Adults, is a process designed for three different groups of people: (1) adults (age 7 and older) who are not baptized and would like to join the Catholic Church, (2) adults who were baptized as children into the Catholic faith, but who have not completed their initiation in the Church because they have not celebrated their First Eucharist and/or Sacrament of Confirmation, and (3) adults who have been validly baptized in another Christian denomination and who now want to become Catholic.

The Catholic Church welcomes people of all faiths and backgrounds into the INITIATION process.  Here at St. Aloysius, we meet on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:45. If you don’t already do so, we strongly encourage you to begin to attend Mass weekly. Those unable to join in receiving Eucharist are encouraged to go through the Communion line with their arms crossed to receive a blessing.

Team Time Commitment: 12-15 active parish members, who are knowledgeable in the faith, are needed for various tasks. Some volunteers will meet weekly with OCIA candidates, year-round, for approximately 1 ½ hours per session. Others may be session leaders, lead prayers, provide hospitality, or act as sponsors to the candidates.
