Our Story

St. Aloysius Catholic School serves 400 students in Preschool through 8th grade.  We have an active, caring community that will walk with you on your parenting journey.  With over 70% of our teachers having a Master’s degree, a principal with over 26 years of educational background, two resource/enrichment specialists, and a dedicated counselor, we have all your bases covered.  We are AdvancED accredited and completed an onsite audit with the Kentucky Center for Safe Schools with flying colors.

St. Aloysius Catholic School was formally established in 1926.  At that time, it was a small, rural school run by the Sisters of Mercy.  Over the years, as Oldham County has grown, so has our parish and therefore, so has our school.  The last school expansion was in 1996.  Today, St. Aloysius houses 22 classrooms, a media center, a full size gym, a large cafeteria, several multipurpose rooms, and a thriving preschool.   In 2015-2016, enrollment for grades K-8 is 365 students with an average class size of 22.

In 2014 and again in 2020, St. Aloysius Catholic School earned the prestigious National Blue Ribbon Award for Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education.  This award is given to the top 50 private schools in the nation each year based on test scores, curriculum, and overall community involvement.

In 2021-2022 our K-8 enrollment is 355 with an average class size of 22.
